Carly Moellenkamp earned her Bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Spanish from Montana State University in her hometown of Bozeman, Montana. After gaining experience working with children and adults in a neuropsychology clinic, Carly relocated to Colorado to continue her work helping people better understand their brain functioning. In her current role, she enjoys developing and refining clinic resources, organizing materials and processes, and training new testing staff. Carly is passionate about creating efficient systems that support both patients and providers and contribute to a positive learning environment for new team members.

Hello, my name is Carly! I'm SO excited to meet you. I was born and raised in Montana before making my way to Colorado. I love exploring the Denver area and trying new foods, activities, and adventures. When I'm not working, I enjoy playing games, doing crafts, and finding fun new things to do around town. Megan Smiley, LPC, is currently pursuing her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) at the University of Denver. Her doctoral training has emphasized psychological and neuropsychological assessment across a range of clinical populations, with experiences spanning inpatient psychiatry, hospital-based neuropsychology, and outpatient neuropsychology. She also has experience in forensic assessment and competency restoration, providing additional training in the evaluation of complex psychiatric, cognitive, and functional presentations.

Megan's current training and professional interests are focused on adult neuropsychology. She is particularly interested in understanding cognition in the context of complex medical, neurological, and psychiatric presentations, especially when multiple factors may contribute to an individual's cognitive concerns. She is also interested in understanding how cognitive functioning translates into everyday functioning and independence.

Megan's research interests include cognitive functioning across the course of serious and persistent mental illness, concussion and traumatic brain injury, and the validity and clinical utility of performance-based functional assessments.

A little about me: I've lived in several different parts of the country, but I'm a big-city person at heart, and Philadelphia will always be one of my favorite places. I love everything that gives Philly its personality—from the food and neighborhoods to Gritty, the Philadelphia Flyers' wonderfully chaotic mascot, Phillies games, and saying, "Go Birds!" during Eagles season. Outside of work and school, I love antiquing, wandering through museums, and spending time with my husband and our dog, Darla Jean. I also love traveling and experiencing new cities whenever I get the chance. On a quieter night, you're likely to find me curled up watching a true crime documentary.

Cain Gao, M.A., is a doctoral psychology extern at Horizon Neuropsychological Services and a Psy.D. candidate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Denver's Graduate School of Professional Psychology. He earned his M.A. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Denver.

Throughout his doctoral training, Cain has developed extensive experience in psychological and neuropsychological assessment, psychotherapy, and diagnostic evaluation with adolescents, adults, and older adults presenting with complex cognitive, psychiatric, neurodevelopmental, and psychosocial concerns. His clinical training has also included individual, couples, and family psychotherapy; crisis and suicide-risk assessment; and specialized assessment and treatment of individuals experiencing serious mental illness and emerging psychosis. Cain is bilingual in English and Mandarin and has provided clinical services in both languages.

Cain's professional interests include neuropsychological and psychological assessment, serious mental illness and psychosis, personality and emotional functioning, and the ways biological, developmental, relational, and cultural factors interact to shape a person's functioning. He approaches clinical work from a person-centered, relational, and strengths-based perspective, with an emphasis on understanding each person within the broader context of their life rather than reducing their experience to a diagnosis or test score. He is particularly interested in using assessment to help clients and families better understand their strengths, challenges, and possible paths forward.

Cain is also involved in research examining the relationship between anxiety and eye-movement functioning, with broader interests in cognitive neuroscience, psychophysiology, trauma, and psychopathology.

Hi, I'm Cain! Outside of psychology, one of my favorite things to do is cook. I have some culinary training and especially enjoy cooking for other people, experimenting with new recipes, and sharing food with friends and family.

Soccer has been a lifelong hobby of mine, and I still play almost every week. I also play the piano and have spent many years playing and coaching table tennis. When I'm not working, cooking, or playing sports, I enjoy spending time with my partner, friends, and my dog, Nami.

I tend to enjoy activities that bring people together, whether that is sharing a meal, playing sports, listening to music, or spending time with people I care about. I hope to bring that same sense of openness and connection into my work and to help make the assessment process feel comfortable, collaborative, and approachable.

Kassandra is a clinical psychology doctoral student in the neuropsychology concentration track. She holds a bachelor's degree in English literature and a master's degree in psychology with a specialization in applied behavior analysis (ABA). Kassandra is a board-certified behavior analyst (BCBA) and has worked with children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental disabilities. She currently teaches master-level ABA courses at Purdue Global and Vargas University, while completing her clinical training in neuropsychology at Horizon.

Kassandra is interested in working with athletes, specifically those who sustain recurrent head injuries, and assessing the brain-behavior relationship in athletic performance. Her goal is to contribute to the research on early detection of neurodegeneration and help athletes navigate the various stages of their careers with proper care and support.

Hi! I'm Kass and I was born and raised in Miami, FL. I recently traded beaches for mountains and relocated to Denver, Colorado, where I live with my boyfriend and our two kittens (Asher and Ryder). Outside of work and school, I enjoy going to the movies, concerts, and traveling. I love indie/alternative rock and recently saw The Strokes at Red Rocks twice (still dreaming about it). I'm also a big Formula 1 fan and would love to attend every Grand Prix. Although I've only attended races in Miami, the Monaco GP is next on my list.

Pauly received his master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Regis University, and is a current fourth-year PhD student in Clinical Psychology at Fielding Graduate University. He is also concurrently completing an additional master's degree in Clinical Psychopharmacology at Alliant University.

Pauly is a national board-certified counselor and United States Navy reservist who commissioned as an officer in July of 2024. Throughout his clinical training and career, Pauly gained experience working across a variety of settings and populations, including hospital-based behavioral health (both pediatric and adult settings), outpatient and private-practice mental health, community health centers, Veterans Affairs, and both therapy and assessment settings. Pauly's clinical interests include psychological assessment, psychopharmacology, trauma-informed treatment, and the integration of behavioral health embedded within medical settings. Pauly has worked with individuals across the lifespan including children, adolescents, adults, and senior populations with a diverse range of identities and presentations. His academic, clinical, and military experiences have contributed to a broad understanding of the psychological and biological mechanisms that influence human behavior.

Hello everyone! My name is Pauly! I am a Colorado native who loves to spend my free time traveling around the world, strength training, playing and watching sports, hiking, and sharing my experiences with loved ones. I also love to sing, dance, and see live music. If I am not working, you'll probably find me doing something active! Looking forward to meeting you!

Sarah Turchanik earned her bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Coaching Education from The Ohio State University and her Master's degree in Sport and Performance Psychology from the University of Denver. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology at the University of Denver. During her graduate training, she has gained experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with a range of mental health and behavioral concerns, as well as individuals involved in substance use and recovery.

As a former NCAA Division 1 athlete, Sarah has a particular interest in Sport Psychology and the connection between mental health and performance. She hopes to integrate her clinical and performance psychology training to help individuals better understand themselves, develop effective coping strategies, and make meaningful changes in their lives.

Hi there! My name is Sarah, and I'm excited to meet you! I'm originally from Cleveland, Ohio, and I was a swimmer at The Ohio State University, where our team won 4 Big Ten Championships. Even though I'm no longer competing, I still enjoy working out, trying new activities, and watching sports. I'm unfortunately a lifelong Browns fan, although after several years in Denver, I find myself becoming more and more of a Broncos fan every year. One team that will never lose my loyalty, though, is the Cleveland Cavaliers!

I love living in Denver because it's extremely different from Ohio and definitely more beautiful! When I'm not working or at school, I enjoy exploring new places throughout Colorado, hiking, trying new restaurants, reading, watching reality TV, and spending time with family and friends. The dog in my picture is Penny, who is almost 16 years old but still acts like a puppy!

Molly earned her bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Studies, first studying at Pennsylvania State University before transferring to and graduating from Colorado State University. She went on to earn a master's degree in International Psychology with a concentration in Trauma from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.), with a specific interest in Neuropsychology. As part of her doctoral training, she completed a year-long residency focused on psychological assessment and the development of advanced clinical skills.

Molly has more than a decade of professional experience in anti-trafficking work, supporting survivors of sex and labor trafficking in both domestic and international settings. She is deeply passionate about providing equitable, accessible, and inclusive mental health services and is committed to helping make quality care available to individuals and communities who have historically faced barriers to accessing it. As she continues her clinical training, Molly hopes to build on her experience supporting survivors by providing compassionate, trauma-responsive psychological services to individuals, regardless of what they may be navigating.

Hi! My name is Molly, and I'm so excited to meet you! I'm currently a doctoral student studying Clinical Psychology, and I love learning about the uniqueness of the human brain and what makes each person's experience so different. Outside of work and school, I love spending time outdoors and staying active. My family is the most important part of my life, and that includes the pup in my pictures, Ahyoka (Aya for short), who is often along for the adventure. I also love traveling, reading, spending time with friends, and collecting plants, even though I definitely don't have the greenest thumb. I grew up on the East Coast but have lived in quite a few places since then, including outside of the U.S. I love experiencing new places, meeting new people, and have a deep appreciation for different cultures. I'm looking forward to getting to know you!
